Little Pentire Cottage is a private holiday cottage for the extended Radcliffe Family and friends. We do not normally let it out to poeple we do not know.
Thank you to all those who left nice comments in our visitors book last season ; we are pleased that you had good holidays and enjoyed the Lizard as much as we do. Most of the comments highlighted the huge numbers of places to visit/ things to do in the area, the great food and the wonderful beaches! Im afraid we cannot guarantee the sun but there is plenty to do all year round.
Little Pentire sleeps seven people and has spacious living rooms. It is centrally heated and there is a wood-burning stove in the living room. The stairs from the living room provide plenty of crannies for more play (soldiers' camp in our case!) and lead through French doors into a large kitchen. This is fully-fitted with modern units and has a fridge-freezer, microwave and dishwasher to ensure the stay is as much a holiday as possible. There is a large dining table here, although it is also possible to eat in the living room if preferred, as there is another table there. Leading from the kitchen is a utility room equipped with a washer and dryer.
The 28' sitting room has plenty of room for children to play in and is comfortably furnished with a granite fireplace and vaulted, beamed ceiling. There is a television, video and CD system, although these are certainly not " state-of-the art "! There is a telephone. Because of the thickness of the walls, this room is very cool on hot summer days and equally cosy in the evenings.
There are three bedrooms, two with double beds and the third with three singles. The master bedroom, at the far end of the living room was once the carriage room and is quite large with a high ceiling. The other two bedrooms are underneath the kitchen, each on a different level and very private. Each bedroom has an modern en-suite bathroom, two with baths and hand showers, the third with a shower unit. All bedrooms have large built-in wardrobes.
There is a small south-facing garden, reached by walled steps down from the kitchen. It is quite private, with Cornish hedges, although mainly gravel and terraced grassy areas, making it not suitable for very young children to be left there unsupervised. Patio furniture and a small barbecue are provided and it is a wonderful place to sit and read or have breakfast.
Outside the gate is parking for approximately four cars, and this is where guests are asked to park. The courtyard area on the other side of the cottage is to be left car-free, except for loading / unloading and is ideal for badminton, boules etc.
